Anakena

Update on the new Arch and other info

June 08

Another very busy spring season for us. I installed a new arch with davits and and added a solar panel on our boat to be fully autonomous. I used a custom arch from Nautical Creation (LOUISVILLE KY) http://www.nauticalcreations.com/ and have been very satisfied with the service, product and price (less than 2K delivered up in NY state). Easy to install using the adjustable feet. Solar panel is able to charge up to 10Amp/hour. We also repainted the hull, new lines and refreshed the boat name. More project to complete this summer (water cooled compressor and refrigeration, propane tank in the cockpit inspired by Bob Skene work. This winter I'm planning to convert my old Atomic 4 that still work well for a BetaMarine diesel engine. We will then be ready for our trip to the Bahamas scheduled for winter 2010 (4 months). Included few pictures of Anakena's new refreshed look. I just realized recently that our boat spent the winter at the same marina as ''Beauté des îles'' owned by John (Jean) and Gabrielle (french Canadians like me) and I have not had a chance to meet them yet.

''Bon vent'' ( good wind)

Anakena, #351

Anakena comes from the name of one of the most beautiful beaches in the world located on Easter Island in the Pacific.

The previous owner named it and wanted to make a trip to the island. Never made it but maybe one day the boat will reach it's initial destination. We have  future plans to go South and travel with our Lady.
Season will stop in two weeks (Canadian thanks giving) and we will put Anakena on ground until next April/May.
