Summersail

Update on Summersail

John was on his way back North up the "ditch" and I caught up with him in Melbourne, FL.  He showed me around Summersail.  Take a-look at his canvas design.  Best I have ever seen.  It encloses the whole 7'2" cockpit.  Good to see you John and have a good trip.

John was showing me his planned route home.

Summersail in the Summer

Summersail is a 1981 model P35.  Recently purchased Summersail after 3 years of sailing a San Juan 28.  Wow, what a difference.  Summersail will probably be my boat for some time to come.  Every time I look at her I grin...these are beautiful boats.  Engine recently rebuilt, roller furling, interior and wood work in good condition.  Throttle cable gave way on last sail...luckily I was close to home, and she stuck in low speed.  Went to the sailboat show last week, and the Edson booth was  very helpful, to include a pamphlet on the installation/etc of the cables.

(John, you just look too cool.  There must be something you need to fix or clean.  What a great dock.)

Summersail in the Winter

Here is where Summersail (ironic, huh) is spending the winter.

I promised her I'd get her to a warmer place within two

years...at least that's the plan!!
