Drive Saver

I got motivated this spring and installed a drive saver coupling on my shaft. My thinking was maybe it would cut down on some hull vibration, and save a little wear and tear on bearings. It was made at a friendly machine shop in the Midwest, where he had all the old records from Paragon. He said he used to sell dozens of these to Pearson .

The install went well, nothing had to be cut or shortened . High quality work, cost around $250. Its kind of like a CV joint, with 4 rubber balls between the two parts. I do believe it absorbs some minor flexing issues . Rated at well over a 100 hp, so it would not help if the prop hit anything submerged.
