Originally the VHF Radio and the Stereo was mounted on a black Plexiglas panel in front of the center board retractor.  It covered up quite a bit of sins.

     I relocated the VHF to the original Pearson mounting position shown below (the holes were still there).  When I removed the Plexiglas panel, I found that the cover for the centerboard cables and retractor assembly was missing.  I cut and glued a wooden box and had it covered with Formica (Wilsonart #1572-60, Antique White) to match the rest of the 1979 cabinet tops.

     The Stereo was remounted above on the teak panel attached to the salon top.
