Dripless Stuffing Box

When I removed the engine I could finally get a good close look at that 1979 Stuffing Box.  Based on the difficulty in accessing that area I decided to install a "dripless model."  I choose the PYI model and found it easy to install.  The slip collar ring fit over the shaft and the four set screws locked it soundly to the shaft.
When the boat was lowered in the water I pushed the rubber bushing back to allow water to fill the tube.
It's been over two eight, years now and not one problem...and a dry bilge.
